Swain's lane runs from Highgate Road upto Highgate Village.This lane is narrow for the most part and many supernatural sightings have been seen over the centuries; certanly not for the fainthearted to go walking along in the dead of night. It seperates the eastern and the western parts of Highgate Cemetery.Beneath the road is a tunnel which was used to convey the departed from the Chapel in the western part to the eastern part for burial.
